Do I need to slap to play funk bass?
No. A huge amount of classic funk is fingerstyle, not slap. We build your groove, timing and ghost notes first — slap is an option we can add once your fundamentals are strong.
My timing feels off and I lose the pocket. Can you help?
Yes — that is one of the most common things we work on. We use targeted exercises, playing along with drums and live feedback so you can hear and feel exactly where your notes are landing.
What equipment do I need for online funk lessons?
Your bass, a device with a camera, and a stable internet connection. A simple clip-on phone stand that shows both hands helps your teacher give precise feedback, but it is not essential to begin.
How long until I can play a solid funk groove?
