Do I need to read music to learn slap bass?
No. We teach slap technique using groove, rhythm and shapes you can see and hear. If you want to learn to read bass clef alongside it, we can include that — but it is never a barrier to starting.
I already play fingerstyle bass. Can I just learn slap?
Absolutely. Many of our students are confident fingerstyle players who want to add slap to their toolkit. We will fast-track the mechanics and get you applying them to real grooves quickly.
What equipment do I need for online slap lessons?
Your bass, a device with a camera, and a stable internet connection. A simple clip-on phone stand that shows both hands helps your teacher give precise feedback, but it is not essential to begin.
How long until I can play a real slap groove?
Most adult beginners are playing a clean, simple slap groove within a few weeks of consistent practice. The clean part matters more than the fast part — and that is exactly what the lessons are built to deliver.
