Should I play metal bass with fingers or a pick?
Both have a place, and great metal bassists use each. We build clean technique on whichever you prefer first, then add the other so you can choose the right attack for every riff.
My playing gets muddy or my hand tires out at speed. Can you help?
Yes — that is one of the most common things we work on. We fix muting and hand mechanics so your fast lines stay clean, and build stamina with targeted exercises so your hand lasts the whole song.
Do I need a special bass or a 5-string to play metal?
No. A standard 4-string is completely fine to start, and everything we teach applies directly. If you later move to a 5-string or down-tuned setup, the technique transfers straight across.
How long until I can play a real metal riff?
Most students are playing a clean, tight riff within a few weeks of consistent practice. We build clean and controlled first, then push the speed — fast comes from clean, not the other way round.
Can metal bass really be taught online?
Yes. Metal bass is about speed, timing and control — all of which come across clearly over live video. Your teacher can see your hands, hear your attack and correct you in real time.
